  Iranian American Siamak Namazi (45), is a global citizen who has lived in Iran, Kenya, Egypt, the United Stated and Dubai, United Arab Emirates wher<em></em>e he has lived since 2007. Siamak holds a master's degree from Lo<em></em>ndon Business School and recognized as a Young Global Leader, and has also acted as a member of WEF Global Agenda Council. Throughout his career, Siamak has o<em></em>nly served as a consultant, scholar and company executive. He has never engaged in any other trade, business and the like and is not and never been a ?businessman.? Siamak has never engaged in any political activity. Siamak's humanitarian co<em></em>ntributions are illustrated through his advocacy to bring changes against US sanctions that were affecting medicine reaching the Iranian people. In 2013, Siamak devoted a few mo<em></em>nths to study and to speak out against sanctions that blocked humanitarian trade with Iran. Siamak worked independently to find out the root of the problem and then published his findings. Siamak presented his study at the Woodrow Wilson Center WWC publication in February 2013 and subsequently penned an op-ed in the New York Times, March 1, 2013. Siamak?s efforts was widely co<em></em>nsidered the most detailed study on the matter and led to significant changes in OFAC?s policies allowing more lifesaving medicine and medical equipment to reach the people of Iran. Arrest and Conviction: On 18 July 2015, after a weekend visit to his parents, Siamak Namazi was intercepted at Tehran airport and prevented from leaving Iran by the Islamic Republic Revolutio<em></em>nary Guards (IRGC) and his passports confiscated. What followed were three mo<em></em>nths of almost daily interrogations by the IRGC. On 13 October 2015, Siamak was unjustly arrested by the IRGC and was transferred to the notorious Evin prison in Tehran. Recently, Iranian o<em></em>nline media have shown videos of what purports to be the moment of Siamak?s arrest. Since his arrest, Siamak has been kept under harsh co<em></em>nditions including spending mo
